I just got word that the cooler weather resulted in a brix drop, so the pick may get delayed until Friday or Saturday. If so, that will make it easier to get to Napa in time, but nothing is confirmed yet.

I think it was probably 8-10 years ago that mom and I finally decided that the place in California from whence came the most wines we really enjoyed was the Anderson Valley.

I know we tasted a couple quite outstanding Pinots from the cooler climates when we were in NZ.

I'm going to be looking forward to what you can accomplish with the La Encantada and Anderson Valley sources.

Yeah, the La Encantada tasting convinced me I needed to work with that fruit again this year. So, in addition to that, I am getting fruit for my second batch from the Anderson Valley area of Mendocino. I'm finding myself more attracted and intrigued by fruit grown in cooler climates. Both of these vineyards, despite being at opposite ends of the state, are marine influenced (fog, cool air) and have average heat summations below Napa and Sonoma.

I know this year you're getting some grapes from the California northlands, but are you also going to be getting more La Encantada? It sounds like you're really enthused with the way the 2009 is turning out.

<a href="#comment-5" rel="nofollow">@Crazy-Noir </a>
Now that all the legal hurdles are basically behind us, the next big step for us is re-doing the website and finalizing the store. Depending on the timing, we're going to look to participate in some pourings and events here in the SF Bay Area in 2010.

So yes, absolutely, I think some samples are definitely in order. If you're local to the SF area, we should be able to work something out in early '10, otherwise you'll unfortunately have to wait until the store is open. We're mulling over some details on some introductory discounts to entice folks to sample, as well as a few other options.

I definitely appreciate your interest. Thanks for dropping by, and check back soon!

I love Pinot Noir. Even better small lots and to get in on the ground floor would be great. Any chance to acquire some for sampling?

Bouquet-mid-pallet-finish--Cheers!
